The photo above shows a typical Ellendale modern ranch built in 1956 by Pacific Builders Incorporated.	The photo above shows a home located across town in the Ferry Street Bridge neighborhood. Although it looks similar from this angle, the street side of this home reveals the internal configuration to be somewhat different than an Ellendale modern ranch.

Below is an image comparing several floorplans of mid century homes. The first is a home design by Palmer & Krisel. The second is a Cliff May home. The final image is a floorplan of a typical Ellendale home. Note the similarities in configuration, in particular the bedrooms.

In summary, it seems reasonable to conclude that multiple builders were probably constructing similar modern, tract houses during the mid to late-1950's. The emergence of Cliff May Ranch homes in the early 1950's was likely an influencing factor.
